From a young age, Lyssa Ann loved to organize, plan and to bring people together. From sticker trading parties and friendship bracelet marathons to school dances, blood drives and banquets, she reveled in the myriad of details that built each event and took pride in the inevitable problem solving that accompanied the process.
A graduate of UW Madison, Lyssa Ann spent her early career in retail. After working as a personal shopper and managing contemporary store retail , she transitioned to corporate retail and moved up the ranks, buying women's apparel. Here Lyssa Ann enjoyed the process of curating privately developed assortments, as well as negotiating with national vendors to get the right product at a great price. Throughout this time, she never lost her passion for event planning. Lyssa Ann produced dance shows and worked on numerous weddings, as well as exercised these skills in her corporate life. Eventually, it was time to turn this lifelong passion into a career. Modern Sage Events was born. Founded with passion, creativity and the desire to maximize any budget, Lyssa Ann knows that Modern Sage occupies a unique niche in the event planning world. While she has experience with full service event planning, Lyssa Ann specializes in DIY brides and educates on event planning basics. She also offers wellness & personal fitness guidance and a variety of both individual and group classes. Lyssa Ann has over 30 years of dance training and over 20 years of experience in Pilates and Yoga. She is a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certified instructor and holds certification in Barre Pilates as well. Lyssa Ann knows that any budget can support a unique and personalized event; this is why Modern Sage offers more than the traditional event planning packages. She believes in collaboration, networking, personalized service and strives to offer "sage" advice to all prospective clients. |
